Wet strength agents of TAOKA

1. Polyamide epoxy resin

  • It is a non-formaldehyde-based resin and is suited to sanitary paper and food packaging paper.
  • Since it has cationic properties, it promotes the fixing of fillers, anionic polymers, etc.
  • It has crosslinking properties and adds water resistance to water-soluble polymers such as starch.
  • Sumirez® Resin 650(30): It expresses good wet strength without disturbing the formation even in the high addition range.
  • Sumirez® Resin 675A: Resin 675A: It is a high-cation, high-molecular-weight type which delivers high wet paper strength and excellent fixing effect.
    It is a product which was developed to satisfy the adsorbable organic halogen (AOX) regulation, and it complies with the PRTR Act.
  • Sumirez® Resin 6615: This is a low AOX type resin which complies with the PRTR Act, and has good stability for long terms.
  • Sumirez® Resin SLX-1: This is a newly developed environment-friendly product in which the 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol content is suppressed to 0.1% or lower.
  • Sumirez® Resin 6725: This is a newly developed high-performance type which delivers a high wet strength even in high recycling whitewater systems.

2. Melamine resin

  • Paper using melamine resin excels in dimensional stability, and thus it is suited as a wet strength agents for converting paper.
  • It excels in wet strength in the presence of alkali, and adds heat resistance to paper.
  • Melamine resin is better quickly shown of wet strength than polyamide epoxy resin.
  • This product contains formaldehyde.

Printability improver contain modified amine-based resin or modified amide-based resin as the main component, and deliver beautiful printed matter when they are added to the coating color comprised of pigments and latex and coated to paper.
